An interesting phenomenon of the current market is that deals are failing at almost the last hurdle. 

Of course, a deal isn't ever done until its done but our current economic problems seem to have placed rather more hurdles on the circuit than I have seen before, causing deals to become sluggish at best and, at worst, aborted.
